Synopsis

Wallace’s story begins with a reckless decision in Ecuador and spirals into a harrowing four-year journey through some of Europe’s toughest prisons. From the brutal blocks of Istanbul to the holding cells of Munich, he survives on instinct, wit, and fragile alliances—with fellow inmates like David and Shimon, who become lifelines in a world ruled by paranoia and power plays.

Diagnosed with bipolar disorder and battling addiction, Wallace navigates a system that rarely shows mercy. He’s sedated, manipulated, and nearly broken—but never silenced. Each chapter peels back the layers of trauma, revealing a man caught between survival and self-destruction.

After release, the chaos continues: homelessness, relapse, and a desperate search for meaning. From drinking himself unconscious in Amsterdam to waking up in a hospital with no passport, Wallace’s journey is raw, unfiltered, and painfully real. But through it all, there’s a pulse of hope—found in unexpected kindness, in the unwavering love of his mother, and ultimately, in sobriety.

This is not a redemption story wrapped in clichés. It’s a memoir of grit, grief, and grace. A brutally honest account of what it means to fall apart—and fight like hell to come back
